Privacy policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026
What personal information IADBE collects through iadbe.org and during the review of an application, why, who else receives it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do
Who we are
This site belongs to the International Association of Distinguished Business Experts (IADBE). The association is not registered as a legal entity; it operates as an unregistered union under Article 39 of the Civil Code of Georgia. Questions about this policy or your data: info@iadbe.org.
What we collect
Only what you give us:
- the membership form: name, email, country, field and, if you add it, a LinkedIn profile;
- the partnership form: company, name, email, website and the text of your offer;
- in either form, how you found us, if you choose to answer;
- after you apply: the CV and evidence of achievements you email us for the review and, if you are admitted, the confirmation that the application review fee is paid. Nothing is paid on this site;
- letters you send to our addresses.
What your browser sends
When you open the site, your browser sends technical information to our hosting provider: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the page you came from, date and time.
What we use it for
- to review your application against the published criteria and give you a written decision;
- to issue and verify membership documents, and to keep the records of members;
- to answer partnership requests and letters;
- to protect the site from abuse and to comply with the law.
Who else receives it
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising. The members of the admissions committee see the application and evidence they review. Besides them, only the services that run the site and our mail receive data, each for its own job:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers every page;
- our email provider stores the letters we send and receive;
- the service that delivers the forms to our mailbox receives what you submit.
Other cases
We may disclose data when the law requires it or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. We confirm a person’s membership to a third party only when that person asks us to.
Analytics and cookies
The site has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no session recording, and it sets no cookies. Fonts load from our own site.
Your browser keeps two things on your device, which are not sent to us: the language you chose, and, until you close the tab, the answers of a form, so that the thank-you page can greet you by name.
We do not track you across other websites and do not let other companies do so through our site, so the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
How long we keep it
Applications and review evidence: while the review goes on and one year after the decision. Members’ data: while the person is a member and for one year after the membership is ended. Partnership requests and letters: one year after the last exchange. Then we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
How we protect it
Only the people who work on your application or request can see it. Our providers store data on encrypted servers. No way of sending or storing data is completely safe; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
Write to info@iadbe.org to see the data we hold about you, correct it or delete it. We answer within 30 days. If you delete the data of an application under review, the review stops.
Children
The site and membership are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you think a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects data we already hold, we tell you by email before it takes effect.
